N. Starcat Shields has been actively exploring her spiritual path for more than 20 years. Her studies began with the works of Jane Roberts (Seth) and her namesake, Starhawk. Since then she has studied Buddhism and Eastern philosophy, yoga, Earth-based religions, Tarot, and Reiki healing. Starcat is a licensed and ordained Pagan priestess. She is President of the Maine-based EarthTides Pagan Network, and has written a regular column for the EarthTides newsletter since 1997. In 1992, Starcat received her B.A. in Broadcasting and English from the University of Maine, and refined her writing and editing skills during a 16-year career in public radio. She enjoys writing about spirituality and self-improvement, and is an avid journal-keeper. Since 2006, she’s written a blog called Starcat’s Study, which can be found at starcatsstudy.blogspot.com. Starcat’s other interests include yoga, meditation, reading, hiking, creative vegetarian and vegan cooking, transformative art, and drumming. She enjoys unschooling (also called child-led learning) with her two kids. Starcat lives with her amazing family in southern Maine.
